Located in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, the Fontán Building is a contemporary architectural development recognized for its distinctive roof profile and modern design. Completed in 2021 as part of the City of Culture of Galicia complex, the building combines an expressive architectural form with a contemporary glass façade.
The building's distinctive roof geometry called for a roofing solution capable of following its architectural lines while maintaining a clean, consistent finish. Achieving the desired aesthetic required precision in the design and execution of the roof, with particular attention to the continuity of the roof profiles and their integration with the wider building envelope. KingZip SF Standing Seam Roofing System was selected to support the building's distinctive roof design.
Designed for architectural flexibility, KingZip SF can accommodate curved, tapered and complex geometries, helping architects translate ambitious design concepts into built form. Its concealed fixing system creates a clean, uninterrupted finish, allowing the roof's geometry and detailing to remain at the forefront of the architecture.
At the Fontán Building, KingZip SF contributes to a refined architectural expression, with smooth, continuous roof profiles complementing the building's contemporary form.
The project demonstrates how standing seam technology can combine design flexibility with precise detailing to help deliver distinctive architectural projects.
